DIME is an independent provider accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to provide medical education to healthcare professionals. DIME is also an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Illinois Nurses Association (INA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). DIME’s areas of expertise include auto-immune diseases, cardiovascular/cardio-metabolic diseases, gastroenterology diseases, pain, and women’s health. DIME has developed collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within all of these therapeutic categories and has also created unique digital solutions designed to meet learners' specialized needs for continuing medical education.

DIME Mission Statement
The Discovery Institute of Medical Education’s mission is to create a comprehensive range of continuing education activities that support healthcare providers in improving their clinical competence and performance in providing quality healthcare services to ultimately improve health outcomes for their patients.
DIME designs, develops, and implements quality Continuing Education (CE) activities targeting physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

DIME CME Mission Statement
Purpose
DIME’s purpose is to improve healthcare for patients through the improvement of clinical competence in the healthcare team. DIME achieves its purpose through the support of clinicians in their continuing professional development with high quality, gap-driven, learner-centered educational activities.
Content Areas
Educational content is developed by DIME that supports the narrowing of gaps in professional practice. DIME focuses on the following therapeutic areas:

Target Audience
DIME targets primary care and specialty physicians for whom a professional practice gap is identified.
Type of Activities
Given that adult learners have different learning preferences, and that each individual physician learner has different needs, DIME develops activities in multiple formats, based on the most effective way to reach the target audience with the specific professional practice gap, and where possible, the known preferences of the learners.
Expected Results
DIME plans its activities to promote the improvement of patient health and the quality of healthcare by developing activities that focus on enhancing physician competence. DIME measures the results of its activities at the highest appropriate levels, including physician competence, performance and patient outcomes.
